Stefan Schwerdtfeger is the singer and songwriter of the band BIG SLEEP. Half German, half American, came to Thessaloniki 11 years ago and lives here since. I know and listen to Stefan's music almost 10 years now; back to the days when I was a regular resident of Carpe Diem bar, where he performed almost every week. But I actually met Stefan 2 months ago when he asked for my help in designing the cover of his knew acoustic album, and making it available for purchasing through the internet. I was more than happy to help him and so I did. After all, it's not everyday that someone you admire and respect asks for your help!
Being such a big fan of his music though, I wanted to do a little more. And it was again Stefan that gave me the opportunity to do so: after discussing the possibility of making a video for one of his new songs, he came up with the idea of filming his last gig with MPLE during the 2007 Reworks Festival. The outcome of this idea is this short rock-umentary that I am proud to present. A tribute to a man who's music has been the soundtrack of a big part of my life. And who's way of life and thinking justifies me in considering myself lucky to have met a true "rock" figure. Stefan, I thank you for your trust. But before that, I thank you for being who you are ...
